Fire destroys Iowa trucking facility, thankfully no injuries reported

A fire destroyed a trucking facility in Greenfield, Iowa, with firefighters called to the scene on December 27, 2024.

The scene: Around 4 p.m., fire crews rushed to G & H Motor Freight Lines. The fire started in the shop area and quickly spread to other parts of the building.

  • The structure housed a storage area and a second-story office.
  • Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department declared the building a total loss.

No injuries: Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident.

The aftermath: Firefighters had to return on Saturday to control hot spots.

  • They managed the flames caused by burning piles of powdered egg.

The facility is considered a complete loss following the blaze.
