A livestock hauler overturned on an overpass near Dallas on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of dozens of cows.
The basics: The accident occurred on September 16 at about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of the Interstate 30 frontage road and the Baird Farm Road overpass in Arlington, Texas. The driver misjudged the approaching intersection and turned suddenly, causing the truck to roll over.
- The driver was uninjured, but 40 to 45 of the 80 cows on board died in the crash, with one cow escaping the trailer and being hit by another vehicle.
- Roads were shut down for much of the night as crews worked to clear the scene and reload the surviving cattle onto another trailer.
What's next: Crews managed to clear the area by Tuesday morning, and no further information has been made available, reported Star-Telegram.
