Truck gets stuck on challenging Tail of the Dragon road

A truck driver recently found himself in a predicament on the Tail of the Dragon, a notable and winding road near the North Carolina-Tennessee border. The route is a known challenge for any vehicle due to its sharp curves.

The incident: The driver attempted to detour around a closure on Interstate 40 and ended up stuck in a ditch.

  • The trailer, seemingly loaded with large paper rolls, tipped over, further complicating the scenario.
  • Thankfully, the truck's driver was unharmed.

What happened next: Video footage by a heavy tow truck driver showed the meticulous effort needed to recover the semi. The truck was lifted back to stable ground through a careful and slow process.

This isn't an isolated incident, as another truck was spotted in a tricky spot on the same road, raising questions about navigation choices in the area.

The operator of the tow service highlighted these situations in a series of videos, emphasizing the GPS failures truckers experience while seeking safe and efficient routes.

Fortunately, despite these challenges, the truck driver involved this time around was not injured.
