Attempted arson damages several trucks at Maryland transport yard

On the morning of July 7, 2025, someone tried to set fire to several trucks at Murphy’s Transport in Ridgely, Maryland.

The details: The owner, Bryan Saathoff, found one truck with serious fire damage when he arrived. Other trucks showed signs someone tried to burn them, but the fires didn't totally catch.

  • No injuries were reported.

Who’s investigating: The Maryland State Police handed the case to the State Fire Marshal, who confirmed it was an attempted arson, reported the State Fire Marshal’s website.
