California opens new truck inspection site on busy highway

Truckers traveling through San Luis Obispo County, California, now have a new commercial vehicle enforcement facility open along State Route 46. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) announced the start of operations at the site on May 22.

What’s new: The inspection area is set up for both eastbound and westbound lanes on SR-46. CHP said the dedicated lanes give officers and truck drivers enough room and a safer spot for vehicle inspections.

  • The new facility is part of a bigger project led by Caltrans to make SR-46 safer and move traffic along better.
  • Early photos show trucks of all shapes rolling through as inspectors check them out.

This is another spot for truckers to get checked and keep things running smooth in the area.
