Car driver charged after street racing crash with semi truck

A car driver in Arizona is facing charges after a dangerous crash with a commercial truck on the night of October 4, 2025.

What happened: Arizona State Troopers responded around 7:30 p.m. to a collision on eastbound AZ-202 at the AZ-101 junction. Officers say a passenger vehicle got wedged between a big rig and the barrier wall.

  • Witnesses told police the car driver was racing another vehicle on the highway just before the crash.
  • The driver, whose name wasn't released, only had minor injuries to their face.

The charges: The motorist is accused of street racing, reckless driving, and endangerment, according to state police.

The other vehicle involved in the racing left the scene and has not been found.
