A man suspected in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a truck driver nearly two years ago has finally turned himself in.
What happened: The crash took place around 5:05 a.m. on November 19, 2023, on southbound I-95 near the 158-mile marker in Prince William County, Virginia.
- Police say a 2005 Infiniti G35 sideswiped a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia. The 31-year-old truck driver, Trenton Schnakenberg, lost control and the truck hit a guardrail and bridge support.
- The driver of the Infiniti, James A. Puryear, left the scene. The truck driver died at the crash site.
After the crash: Puryear reportedly gave his info to officers for the initial report but took off before police could finish the investigation.
- Puryear, 50, from Kingstowne, turned himself in on the morning of October 30, 2025, at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.
- He faces charges including involuntary manslaughter, felony hit and run, and drug possession with intent to sell.
A court hearing is set for November 3, according to FFXnow.
