Car driver’s risky move causes semi to spill watermelons

On September 15, a car driver dangerously cut across several lanes to make an exit near I-71 and I-275 in Ohio, traffic cameras from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) showed.

What happened: The car quickly swerved in front of a semi hauling watermelons, leaving the trucker no choice but to brake hard to avoid a crash.

  • The truck driver managed to stop safely, but the sudden move caused the load of watermelons to spill onto the road.
  • ODOT called out the car driver for acting recklessly, with spokesperson Matt Bruning saying the trucker was "very attentive and avoided a crash, but there was a big mess to clean up."

The result: No injuries were reported, but the cleanup took extra time thanks to the massive watermelon mess.
