CHP spots unsecured pickup dangling off car hauler

California Highway Patrol (CHP) put a car hauler out-of-service at the San Onofre Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility in Oceanside after spotting a serious load issue.

What they saw: Officers found a pickup truck dangling off the back of the car carrier, not properly secured and hanging over the edge.

  • CHP said the truck was pulled off the road until the load could be made safe for travel.
  • Officers shared that just one bump or sharp turn could have sent the pickup falling off the trailer.

The stop happened on September 13, according to CHP's post. No injuries or crashes were reported from the incident.
