CHP stops runaway semi going wrong way on interstate

California Highway Patrol had their hands full on Sunday, June 15, after getting calls about a semi going the wrong way on I-5 in Siskiyou County.

What happened: Drivers saw the rig cross the median and then head north in the southbound lanes, raising alarms fast.

A CHP officer got ahead of the truck and was able to bring it to a stop before anything worse happened.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to officials.
The event is being investigated to figure out what led to this unusual move.

CHP thanked everyone who called 911, pointing out, “Your quick thinking might have saved lives.”
