Concrete truck overpass fall in Houston kills driver

Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning when a concrete truck tumbled off a Beltway 8 overpass in Houston, resulting in one fatality.

What happened: Just before 9 a.m., the concrete truck collided with a meal delivery truck on the Sam Houston Tollway, leading to the fall.

The driver of the concrete truck was killed upon impact.
The delivery truck driver was critically injured but is expected to survive.
A third driver, in a sedan, also suffered a concussion when debris hit her vehicle.

Witnesses' account: A local observer described the crash as "like a car accident, but that times three," reported ABC13 News.

The current situation: Emergency responders quickly secured the area, helping to reopen the main lanes of the beltway later in the day.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by authorities.
