Dash cam captures semi truck sideswiping new police van

A dash cam video recently captured a semi truck sideswiping a new police vehicle in North Carolina. The incident happened on October 29th as two officers were transporting the vehicle back to Rhode Island.

What happened: The special response van, designed for emergencies, was hit by the semi, as per the Newport RI Police Department.

  • The van was being taken home from the manufacturer in St. Augustine, FL.
  • A Dunn, NC Police Officer was driving behind and caught the crash on video.

Thankfully: Both officers are doing well after the incident, though the new vehicle took damage.
