At least one person lost their life and another was flown out after a crash between two semis on I-80 near Arlington, Wyoming, just before noon on Thursday, September 18.
The crash: The wreck left both tractor-trailers badly damaged on the eastbound side of I-80, closing the interstate between Laramie and Rawlins for hours.
- Emergency crews responded quickly, and one person was taken from the scene by air ambulance for serious injuries.
- Wyoming Highway Patrol and WYDOT warned that drivers could expect long delays and should plan to use alternate routes.
The scene showed the front ends of both semis crushed and debris scattered across the lanes, with at least one truck still smoking, according to Cowboy State Daily.
Authorities have not released details on what caused the crash. The investigation continues while clean-up and recovery efforts are underway on I-80.
