Eight semi trucks crash on I-80 in early morning pileup

Early Tuesday morning, a crash involving eight semi trucks shut down part of I-80 in Trumbull County, Ohio.

What happened: Around 1:45 a.m. on September 23, one tractor trailer lost control and jackknifed, blocking the road. Seven other semis could not stop in time and collided with the first truck.

All trucks were traveling west on I-80 near State Route 193 and State Route 11.
The westbound lanes were closed for about five hours.
Traffic delays lasted over an hour and a half.

Road conditions: Wet pavement and early morning foggy weather may have played a factor, but the exact cause is being investigated, according to FOX 8.

The highway was reopened a little after 7 a.m. It is still not clear if anyone was hurt in the pileup.
