Early Tuesday morning, a crash involving eight semi trucks shut down part of I-80 in Trumbull County, Ohio.
What happened: Around 1:45 a.m. on September 23, one tractor trailer lost control and jackknifed, blocking the road. Seven other semis could not stop in time and collided with the first truck.
- All trucks were traveling west on I-80 near State Route 193 and State Route 11.
- The westbound lanes were closed for about five hours.
- Traffic delays lasted over an hour and a half.
Road conditions: Wet pavement and early morning foggy weather may have played a factor, but the exact cause is being investigated, according to FOX 8.
The highway was reopened a little after 7 a.m. It is still not clear if anyone was hurt in the pileup.
