Ferrari sideswiped by tanker truck, driver seeks witnesses

A rare Ferrari F40 was sideswiped by a tanker truck late Saturday, June 28, on southbound I-15 near the Orem and Lindon, Utah line.

What happened: The red Ferrari, worth around $3 million, was being driven by a Utah car collector known as Supercar Ron. He said the tanker truck, described as dark-colored and newer, struck the car’s side just before 10 p.m., then kept driving.

  • Supercar Ron posted on Instagram to ask for help identifying the truck. He says he was too busy keeping control of the F40 to see the company name on the side.
  • He is offering a reward to anyone who can provide dash cam or security camera footage showing the incident or the tanker truck involved.

The Instagram post included photos of the damage and a call for any witnesses to reach out directly according to Instagram.

No injuries were reported in the incident as the F40 driver safely kept the car from crashing after being hit.
