Fire sparks from semi-truck, major warehouse blaze follows

Firefighters rushed to a major fire in Aurora, Colorado, on Sunday, February 23. A malfunctioning refrigerator unit on a semi-trailer sparked the flames, impacting a warehouse.

The situation: Aurora Fire Rescue was called around 4 p.m. to the business at 19754 E. 35th Drive. The scene was visible from over 20 miles away due to a massive plume of black smoke.

  • Fire crews found two semi-trucks engulfed in flames next to a large warehouse.
  • Everyone was safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Response: It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the blaze. Several other departments, including Denver Fire and South Metro Fire Rescue, provided support.

  • A Hazmat team was on site to manage a diesel fuel spill.

The fire has been declared accidental. All involved agencies are confident in the swift, coordinated response seen on Sunday.
