Man sleeping under trailer killed at Bedford grocery loading dock

Police in Bedford, New Hampshire responded early Wednesday morning, June 11, to a call behind the Hannaford grocery store at 7 Kilton Road. A man was found dead after being run over by a tractor-trailer at the loading dock.

What happened: The 62-year-old man was homeless and appeared to have been sleeping under the parked trailer when it moved. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before 6 a.m.

  • The tractor-trailer was not at the dock when police first arrived.
  • After an investigation, officers found the truck driver, who is now working with the police.

Officials said there will be more police in the area while the case is under review, according to WMUR.

No charges have been announced as of now, and authorities have not released any other details about the driver or the truck.
