Massachusetts police target truckers in large ticketing operation

Massachusetts State Police ran a major commercial vehicle enforcement blitz this week along the Mass Pike, stretching from the New York border over to Boston.

By the numbers: Officers stopped 369 commercial vehicles and did 310 inspections.

  • There were 767 total violations found.
  • 79 vehicles or drivers were taken off the road with out-of-service orders.
  • Police handed out $56,770 in fines.
  • Three criminal actions resulted—one arrest and two summonses.

Between the lines: The State Police called this their most successful enforcement blitz on the Pike so far, according to MSP News.
