Military family’s belongings lost after moving truck wreck in Arizona

A military family’s entire household was lost after a moving truck crashed in Arizona and left their belongings scattered on the roadside. The wreck happened around 9:45 a.m. on October 8 near State Route 69 outside Prescott.

The details: Alejandra and Bert Wing had just moved from Hawaii to Florida, trusting a national moving company to deliver their stuff, including 400-year-old family heirlooms and other personal items.

  • The moving truck flipped while speeding, dumping all the Wings’ boxes and furniture out of the trailer.
  • Over several days, the scene drew in strangers, who sifted through the piles and took things before the family was informed.
  • The Wings only learned of the accident when a police officer called after finding their name on paperwork left at the site.

What’s worse: The moving company never called the Wings to tell them about the crash or the stolen belongings.

  • Instead, the company is still trying to collect payment for delivery, even asking for the full amount before they’ll give a new delivery date—even though most items are lost or stolen, according to Live5 News.
  • Photos of the abandoned load made their way onto social media, but the family’s most precious heirlooms have not been returned.

Anyone who might have picked up items from the roadside and wants to help can contact the Wings by email with information about missing goods.
