A dog that went missing from a trucker at a Houston truck stop was rescued 40 miles away after turning up trapped on another big rig.
The rescue: On June 6, Waller County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Pilot in Hempstead, Texas, after workers noticed a black dog stuck between a semi’s cab and fuel tank.
- The dog, named Black, had been recently adopted by a truck driver who broke down at a Houston truck stop days earlier.
- After getting stuck, Black traveled roughly 40 miles hidden in the frame of the other truck before being found.
- Deputies scanned Black for a microchip and reunited him with his owner, another trucker.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Black was thirsty but unharmed and quickly perked up after the ordeal.
