Nearly 14,000 Kenworth trucks recalled for dash screen issue

Nearly 14,000 Kenworth trucks are being recalled because of a problem with their digital instrument display. The recall, announced September 2, 2025, covers some 2024-2026 Kenworth T680, T880, and W990 models.

The details: The recall is due to a faulty 15-inch screen on the dash that can enter a blue "recovery mode" and stop working without any warning.

  • The failure knocks out important information for the driver, including speed and warning lights.
  • PACCAR said this display issue can make it hard for drivers to know what's going on with their truck.

What’s being done: Dealers will update the software for free to fix the bug.

There isn't a set schedule for when owners will be notified yet, according to NHTSA.

For questions, drivers can reach Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and mention recall number 25PACG.
