New Hampshire trucker arrested for DUI after semi gets stuck in mud

A truck driver faced arrest in New Hampshire after his semi truck got stuck in the median of I-95, thanks to mud.

The incident: At around 1:40 a.m. on March 29, New Hampshire State Police found the truck in North Hampton. The driver, Nathaniel Ray, had lost control and the truck traveled about 500 feet off the interstate before stopping due to the deep mud.

  • Ray, showing signs of impairment, was charged with DUI and other offenses after the crash.

The charges: Along with the DUI, Ray faces felony reckless conduct and criminal mischief. Following his arrest, he was held in protective custody due to his level of impairment. A motor carrier inspection led to multiple violations added to his charges.

The crash spread debris across the highway lanes, but there were no reports of other vehicles being involved or any injuries.

The takeaway: Trucking laws are strict on substance use on the job. This case will likely serve as a cautionary tale for other drivers about the consequences of impaired driving.

As for the I-95 median, officials cleared the scene and traffic returned to normal following the incident.
