Ohio troopers release video after late-night semi truck pursuit

Ohio troopers have released body cam and dash cam footage showing a chase with a semi that unfolded late at night on June 5, 2025, in Mahoning County.

How it started: Troopers tried to pull over a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia for a lane violation on I-76 near mile marker 57 in Austintown Township a little after 11 p.m.

  • The truck driver, later identified as Brandon Coleman, 30, of Waldorf, Maryland, did not stop and kept rolling west for about 11 miles.
  • Police used sirens and lights to get the driver’s attention. The truck’s hazard lights came on before the rig exited the highway and pulled into a fuel station off SR-225, circling to the diesel pumps.

At the fuel stop: Troopers ordered Coleman to exit the cab. He locked the doors and did not respond.

  • After breaking a window, troopers got inside and repeatedly told Coleman to get out, but he resisted.
  • Officers used a TASER, then pulled Coleman from the truck and arrested him.

Coleman was checked by medics and then booked into the Mahoning County Jail. He faces charges for failing to comply with law enforcement and obstructing official business, including a felony. The case is still under investigation by the Canfield Post.
