Operation SafeDRIVE targets risky driving on Kentucky roads

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) are ramping up efforts this week to make highways safer by targeting risky driving among commercial vehicles.

What's happening: From February 25 to 27, 2025, KSP will join Operation SafeDRIVE, a national campaign to cut down on crashes.

  • Officers will inspect trucks at weigh stations.
  • They'll also be on the lookout for dangerous driving like speeding and tailgating.

What they're checking: Vehicle inspections will focus on hours of service, driver's licenses, and vehicle registrations.

The goal: KSP wants to remind everyone to drive safely and share the road responsibly.

No major delays or road closures are expected during these inspections.
