The big picture: This joint effort, conducted from May 1-15, 2025, targeted critical issues like speeding, seat belt use, DUI, and distracted driving. Troopers mainly patrolled I-24 through Illinois and Kentucky, as well as I-57 in Illinois and Missouri.
By the numbers: During the operation, Kentucky State Police (KSP) focused enforcement along I-24 encountered:
- 272 commercial motor vehicle inspections.
- 53 vehicles and 16 drivers placed out of service.
- 83 speeding citations, 37 reckless driving citations, and 22 seat belt fines.
- Four DUI arrests.
