Overturned semi shuts down I-35 during morning rush

A semi truck hit the center median and flipped over on I-35 northbound at mile marker 209 in San Marcos, Texas, during the early morning hours of September 24.

What happened: Dash cam video taken by another driver shows the big rig suddenly swerving and grinding against the median, kicking up sparks before coming to rest. The crash forced police to shut down the interstate for the morning rush.

  • The San Marcos Police Department responded and kept I-35 closed for several hours as crews cleared the overturned truck.
  • No injuries were reported by police from the crash.

By late morning, the highway was reopened and traffic was moving again.
