A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to state prison after an altercation involving a fire police lieutenant and a semi truck last year.
The details: Craig Robert Godfrey, 65, will serve 33 to 66 months after being convicted of aggravated assault and endangering another person.
- The incident took place on June 3, 2023, in Caernarvon Township, where Godfrey disregarded traffic directions during a barn fire.
- Lt. Timothy Cunningham was attempting to redirect traffic when Godfrey used his truck to threaten him, reported the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
The reaction: In court, Godfrey criticized Cunningham's actions, calling them "negligent." However, Judge Reinaker emphasized that it is not an option to ignore directions from fire police.
Thankfully, there were no physical injuries reported from the incident.
