Pickup hits semi in work zone and drives off

Idaho State Police are looking for a gray Ford F-150 pickup that took off after hitting a semi truck on Interstate 90. The crash happened around 12:26 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, just before the Fourth of July Pass exit in a construction zone.

The details: Troopers say the pickup was driving on the right shoulder through a narrow lane when it passed a brown Kenworth pulling two silver hoppers. The Ford struck the front bumper of the semi, leaving behind visible damage.

  • The suspect truck had two large storage bins with yellow lids in the bed and a cover between the bins and the cab.
  • White and yellow flashing lights were seen in the rear window.
  • There was no license plate visible on the pickup.

The semi driver was not reported injured. Police are asking anyone who saw the crash or knows about the truck to call 208-209-8730, according to Idaho State Police.
