Police chase maroon bobtail rig through Detroit area cities

Police in Metro Detroit spent three days chasing down a semi truck after a break-in at a home in Dearborn on Saturday, June 7. The driver, whose name hasn't been released, took off in a maroon bobtail rig after police arrived and struck a squad car, starting the chase.

The details: The first chase crossed through several cities but was stopped because police worried it could get dangerous. Officers tried again on Sunday when they spotted the truck and followed it through even more towns, but once again called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

  • The chase covered more than a dozen cities in the Detroit area.
  • The bobtail rig was finally found on Monday, June 9, around 2 p.m. at Eastern Market in Detroit.
  • Police surrounded the area and arrested the truck driver without anyone getting hurt, according to FOX 2 Detroit.

The suspect is being held by Dearborn police and is expected to face multiple felony charges. No injuries were reported during any part of the chase.
