Police issue tickets and impound trucks during checkpoint operation

On July 10, Hudson Police and Colorado State Patrol carried out a four-hour commercial vehicle checkpoint in Hudson, Colorado.

The results:

  • Officers found a total of 60 violations during the operation.
  • 12 citations were given for safety and skipping the weigh station.
  • Two people were taken into custody.
  • Three commercial motor vehicles were impounded on the spot.
  • Seven Level I, eight Level II, and one Level III inspections were completed.
  • Five trucks were pulled out of service for serious issues.

The operation was a joint effort between local police and state patrol focused on commercial vehicle safety, according to Crimewatch.
