Racine PETRO truck stop changes ownership to TA PETRO

The popular Racine PETRO truck stop in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, is now under new ownership. On March 19, 2025, the Willkomm family transferred ownership to TA PETRO Corporate.

The details: This change includes the TA Truck Service and the Blue Badger Bar & Grill located at 717 S. Sylvania Ave.

  • The Willkomm family has run the truck stop since 1993, and became a PETRO franchisee in 1999.
  • The Blue Badger Bar & Grill was added fairly recently, in 2020.
  • Michael and Jim Willkomm expressed appreciation for their patrons over the years, mentioning that they've gone through many changes on the corner of Highway 20 & I-94.

What they're saying: "The transfer of ownership allows Michael and Jim Willkomm to focus on other businesses they own," the family shared in a letter, reported Willkomm Companies.
