A trucking company in Edmonton, Alberta shared dash cam video showing a dangerous road rage incident on Wednesday, June 11 in the Kelowna area on Highway 97. The crash involved a big rig hauling a modular home and at least two other vehicles.
What happened: Around 7:43 a.m., a 1-ton flatbed truck lost a piece of drywall from its bed, striking a nearby car. This set off a reckless back-and-forth between the flatbed and the car, with both vehicles playing cat and mouse in front of the semi carrying the modular home.
- Both vehicles ended up stopping in the semi’s lane, leaving the trucker with nowhere to go.
- The truck driver hit the brakes hard to avoid the cars, but the force caused the brackets holding the modular home to snap, sending the dolly sliding out behind the load.
- Both the flatbed and the car fled the scene before police arrived.
Aftermath: The DBI Transport team was able to move the modular home off the roadway, working under the guidance of Worksafe BC. No injuries were reported, but the incident caused major traffic delays.
DBI Transport said they support their driver's response and are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicles to contact Kelowna RCMP, according to their post on Instagram.
