Routine Arizona inspection uncovers 13 pounds of cocaine in cab

Body cam released by Arizona deputies shows a trucker getting arrested after deputies discovered about 13 pounds of cocaine hidden inside his cab.

The stop: On June 12, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a commercial flatbed truck on I-17, just south of Cordes Lakes, Arizona.

  • During the inspection, deputies say they found several packages of white powder inside the cab.
  • The powder tested positive as cocaine, with an estimated weight of 13 pounds.

Who was involved: Authorities said the truck driver is Carlos Gomez, age 33, from New Mexico. He was taken into custody and faces drug charges.

The case is still being investigated by local law enforcement. No information was shared about any possible court dates or if anyone else is involved.
