On the evening of June 2, law enforcement in Geary County, Kansas stopped a semi on I-70 for traffic violations. What started as a normal stop turned into a major drug bust.
The bust: Officers said they noticed signs of possible criminal activity and used a K9 to check the trailer.
- Inside, they found about 3,280 pounds of marijuana and 260 pounds of cocaine stashed away.
- Authorities estimate the drugs are worth around $4 million on the street.
Two men from California, Yonas Tsegay and Samson Haliab, were arrested at the scene. Each is being held on a $500,000 bond.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is helping investigate as police try to find out where the shipment was headed and who else may be involved.
