Routine truck inspection in Tennessee uncovers $40,000 in stolen cargo

Tennessee Highway Patrol uncovered over $40,000 worth of stolen cargo during a routine truck inspection in Dickson County on July 22, 2025.

How it happened: Troopers stopped a box truck for a commercial vehicle check. It turned out the load had been stolen from Arkansas and West Tennessee.

After running the truck’s details, troopers believed something was off and alerted the Louisville Metro Police Department.
A follow-up investigation led officers to the suspect’s property in Kentucky, where they found even more stolen bins.

Why it matters: This wasn’t just a simple theft case. It took communication between departments in Tennessee and Kentucky to find all the stolen goods and track them back to the source.

The case remains open as police continue to look for others who may be involved or items still missing.
