Semi truck crash disrupts repairs and power in Pennsylvania

A semi truck crashed into a truck repair shop in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, January 21st. The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on Sipe Road and involved a tractor-trailer pushing an unoccupied car into the side of Penn Power Group's repair facility.

The details: When the accident happened, the semi truck struck a power pole and another parked car, causing extensive damage. No one was injured during the incident, which affected three vehicles.

  • Assistant Fire Chief Kyle Harbold expressed astonishment, stating, "It's actually quite insane that there were no injuries given the impact."

The response: Firefighters had to stand by until electric crews addressed the exposed wires caused by the crash. This delayed the cleanup to over nine hours, braving the cold weather conditions.

Efforts to clear the scene were challenged by low temperatures, reported WGAL News. The same dedicated crew worked throughout the lengthy process.

As of now, the cause of the accident remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police. Thankfully, no injuries resulted from this unexpected crash.
