Semi truck crashes into active paving zone on I-80

A semi truck crashed into a highway construction site on Wednesday, August 13, along westbound I-80 near Arlington, Wyoming.

The details: The truck collided with a paving crew working in an active zone. Three people were hurt, including a worker who was on top of the paving machine at the moment of impact.

  • All three injured individuals were treated and released soon after.
  • Wyoming Highway Patrol said the truck’s brakes were in poor shape, which played a big part in the crash.
  • The driver received a citation for careless driving and having bad brakes.

Troopers noted that, given how serious it looked, the incident could have caused even more damage, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation.

All workers involved got out safely after the collision. No major shutdowns were reported after the scene was cleared up.
