Semi truck leaves I-5, spills load of pink soda

A semi truck left the Interstate 5 roadway and ran about 200 feet through the woods near South 375th Street in King County, Washington, on the morning of July 25th.

What happened: The truck was heading south on I-5 when it veered off the highway. The trailer split open, spilling a load of pink soda cans along the path cut by the rig.

  • Wreckage and scattered cans marked the trail through the trees.
  • Recovery crews shut down two lanes to get the truck out of the woods.
  • The driver had only minor injuries and did not require serious medical help.

"Here are some stills from Trooper Meade's UAV showing the path the semi took and a trail of soda! Not the easiest recovery!" said Trooper Rick Johnson, according to a post by the Washington State Patrol on X.

No additional details about the cause of the crash have been released at this time.
