Semi truck takes runaway ramp safely on Monteagle Mountain

A semi truck was captured on Tennessee traffic cams taking a runaway ramp on I-24 eastbound near mile marker 139.2. The incident happened on the evening of October 25, 2024.

Details: The truck, hauling a flatbed load, veered off to take the ramp on Monteagle Mountain’s 6% grade.

This section of the highway is notorious for runaway accidents.
The truck stirred up a cloud of dust but managed to stay upright.

Fortunately, in this instance, no one was injured, and the truck was safely brought to a stop.
