Six-state trooper crackdown targets speeding and seat belt violations

Law enforcement from six states are teaming up for a major traffic enforcement effort this weekend. The crackdown will run from October 10 to October 12, 2025, targeting drivers across Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The focus: Troopers will step up patrols looking for speeding, impaired driving, and seat belt violations.

  • The goal is to help reduce crashes and cut down on highway deaths.
  • This group effort is all part of the 6-State Trooper Project, which brings state police together for special traffic safety pushes.

High-visibility patrols and sharing resources are meant to make roadways safer across the entire region, reported Kentucky State Police.

The special enforcement lasts all weekend, wrapping up Sunday, October 12.
