Tractor-trailer crash into home leaves driver, resident injured

A severe snowstorm led to a tractor-trailer plowing into a home in Brighton, New York, causing significant property damage and injuries.

What happened: On the night of March 20th, a three-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer occurred on Interstate 390. Near white-out conditions reportedly caused a car to spin out and collide with the truck, sending it off the road and into a house on South Clinton Avenue.

The impact: Two residents were in the home at the time of the crash. The occupant and the truck driver were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A third vehicle involved managed to stop without causing additional harm.

Property damage: The crash extensively damaged multiple rooms across both floors of the house, which is now potentially a total loss, reported Democrat and Chronicle.

Authorities shut down part of South Clinton Avenue for several hours as they investigated and cleared the scene. The road was reopened around 10:30 p.m.

No charges have been filed as the investigation is still ongoing.
