Subaru hits parked semi hauling medical waste on I-95 in Virginia

A deadly crash happened Saturday morning, May 24, on the shoulder of I-95 south in Caroline County, Virginia, near the Ladysmith exit.

What happened: Virginia State Police say a semi hauling biohazard medical waste was stopped on the shoulder for about 10 minutes before a Subaru Outback slammed into the parked trailer at around 70 mph.

  • The Subaru’s driver was killed at the scene.
  • No one else was hurt in the incident.
  • The truck driver, Larry Williams from New Jersey, is facing a charge of improper stopping.

The Virginia State Police investigated the crash on the spot. As of now, no road closures have been reported following the wreck.
