Suspect at large after $31,000 semi truck vandalism in Tennessee

The Henderson County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee is looking for a suspect who slashed the tires of semi trucks at the 101 Travel Plaza on I-40 in Cedar Grove. The incident happened around midnight on September 11, 2024.

The details: The suspect vandalized seven semi trucks, causing about $31,000 in damages. Dash cam footage shows the suspect walking between parked trucks and puncturing the tires.

  • This isn't the first time such an incident has occurred. Florida has seen similar cases, with tire slashing incidents reported on I-75 and I-10 in Columbia County.
  • Back in October 2023, a trucker found all 18 of his tires slashed along with the six tires on the equipment he was hauling while parked overnight off I-75 in Adel, Georgia.

Law enforcement urges anyone with information to contact the Henderson County Sheriff's Department at (731) 968-3421. The investigation is active and ongoing.
