Early Monday morning, a tanker truck crash in Wellington, Utah, left five people hospitalized. The tanker, loaded with crude oil, veered off State Route 6 and caused extensive damage.
What happened: Just before 6:20 a.m., the tanker flipped off the road, hitting six parked cars, before skidding through an intersection. It hit a utility pole, a fire hydrant, and a fence before crashing into a house.
- An older couple in the house was directly hit. They, along with two individuals in the truck, suffered injuries.
- A 12-year-old boy in the house was unharmed but taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
The scene: Pictures from the crash showed power lines draped over the crashed truck. A power outage impacted nine local customers, reported KJZZ.
Aftermath: The cause of the accident remains unclear. Cleanup crews worked on restoring power and clearing debris.
