Teenage truck driver collides with train after hitting pickup

A teenage truck driver got into trouble after hitting a pickup and a moving train in Iowa. The accident happened around 9 a.m. on December 26 near Amana.

The details: Jackson Von Ahsen, 19, was driving a 2007 Kenworth on U.S. Highway 151 when he didn't see an approaching train despite flashing lights.

  • The Kenworth sideswiped a pickup that was stopped at the crossing before colliding with the train.
  • The truck was completely wrecked, and the train had $2000 in damages.
  • No injuries were reported from the incident.

The aftermath: Police cited Von Ahsen for not stopping at the train crossing.

Despite the crash, everyone involved exited safely, and there were no casualties.
