Texas trucker narrowly escapes serious injury in bridge crash

A trucker in Royse City, Texas, came away with only minor injuries after losing control of his rig, which then crashed down an embankment and ended up wedged under a bridge.

The incident: On the westbound lane of IH30 at Farm-to-Market (FM) 35, an 18-wheeler unexpectedly veered off the road, plowing down an embankment and across traffic before getting stuck under a bridge. A dashcam from another truck captured the heart-stopping moment.

Traffic impact: The crash, which occurred during rush hour on December 5, 2023, caused significant congestion on IH30 and led to the temporary closure of FM 35 at IH30 while the scene was being cleared.
