Trooper stops semi hauling SUVs in unusual but legal way

An Arizona trooper saw something out of the ordinary on Saturday night, June 14. A semi was moving through Phoenix without any taillights, catching the officer’s attention.

The stop: When the trooper pulled the truck over, he found it was carrying two SUVs in a way you don’t see every day. The SUVs were loaded on a tank-like bed, turning heads as the truck rolled by.

  • Arizona DPS officials said the load looked odd, but when it was checked, it actually met all the tie-down rules.
  • It’s not clear if the driver got any tickets after the stop.

Even though the haul looked strange, the securement was by the book, and no injuries or road hazards were reported from the incident.
