On August 1, 2025, Oklahoma Highway Patrol made a huge fentanyl bust after pulling over a car hauler on I-40 in rural Oklahoma.
How it went down: Troopers said they stopped the car hauler for following too close. They noticed something wasn't right and got permission to search.
- Hidden inside a car on the trailer was nearly 50 pounds of fentanyl, stored in a secret spot.
- That's over 11 million potential deadly doses, according to OHP.
Why it matters: Just a tiny amount of fentanyl can kill. OHP says: "This seizure represents over 11 million potentially lethal doses, enough to deliver nearly three lethal doses to every man, woman, and child in Oklahoma."
Troopers did not release more details about who was involved or any arrests. They said they want to avoid giving tips to the cartels that move these dangerous drugs.
