Troopers find safety violations during daylong truck inspection blitz

On July 10, 2025, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers did a full day of commercial vehicle inspections on State Highway 114 in Denton County.

The rundown: Officers checked 42 trucks for things like bad brakes, load security, tired drivers, and worn-out tires.

  • They found a total of 162 violations.
  • Most drivers got warnings — 157 in all — and 5 received tickets.
  • 14 trucks were put out of service for big safety problems, including broken or loose axles, faulty brakes, insecure loads, and issues with tires.

According to officials, these checks are meant to catch mechanical or safety problems before they cause serious incidents on the road.

No injuries or crashes were reported as a result of this inspection operation.
