Truck crash in construction zone leads to serious injuries

A truck crash in a construction zone in Norwich, Connecticut, resulted in serious injuries on December 10th. The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on I-395 southbound.

The details: A Kenworth truck carrying a metal beam rear-ended another truck, which caused a chain reaction involving an SUV and a car.

  • The impact caused the beam to slide, trapping the driver in his cab.
  • He was extracted and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two others had minor injuries.

Investigation: Connecticut State Police are investigating the crash. Anyone who witnessed it is encouraged to contact Trooper Timothy Wengloski.
